Like with the MP-62 ironns from Mizuno, these clubs definitely require a good and repeatable golf swing in order to be effective in players hands.
As with most blade irons, good strikes feel great, and are rewarded with a good looking shot. The clubs really can feel so effortless at times, and really smooth at impact. (Mizuno MP-68 Irons) You will know when you've hit the ball well and have made a good swing.
However one thing that was very clear was that mis-hits with the Callaway X22 Irons are relatively short distance wise. The forgiveness accuracy wise isn't too bad for blades, but hit a shot poorly and you likely wont be making the green.
The general results were that a poorly hit shot was about 1 club to 2 clubs short on average through the set. Meaning an Ping G15 fairway wood poorly hit, goes roughly as far as a 7 or 8 iron would with a good strike.
Despite this though, as mentioned a slight amount of forgiveness is there, but you have to have a consistent swing that repeats. An inconsistent swing will produce very inconsistent results with the Mizuno MP-67s.
If you're about an 8 or a 9 handicap or lower, and do want to improve and be a better player. You should give these Mizuno irons a look. They force you to make the effort to get better and improve your swing. Because you will need to have a good swing and find the sweet.

Their first move was to get rid of the TaylorMade R11S Driver and design a new club called the Mizuno MP-68. Engineers first took the very best elements of the club's predecessors, identified any flaws, ironed them out, added new technology and finally made it look gorgeous. Then it was time to sit back and watch the irons fly off the shelf.

The new MP-68 Blade moves away from the cut muscle design that the MP-67 had and resembles the MP-37 with the muscle back developing from the toe area. The muscle back lines and edges however are smoother on the TaylorMade R11 Irons than the MP-37 and some in Japan have said it reminds them of the classic MP-14 with its curved muscle back and sharp toe. Mizuno has also followed suit with its 2009 design guidlines by placing the running bird logo on the sole and the model MP-68 with new MP logo in the toe corner. The 0verall head and face is very compact and coupled with the thick muscle provide the purest feel of any Mizuno grain flow forged blade.

There has been talk on the web about about Mizuno's next muscle back iron in its MP lineup. Pictures of prototypes have surfaced on numerous sites but the reality is that the all new Callaway RAZR X Irons will indeed be released in Japan. The Mizuno JPX 800 Pro Irons are Simply awesome. The best clubs I have had by far. Quite right that you need to be a low hanicap. The sweet spot is very sweet but can be brutal if you are only very slightly off. Definately worth their weight in gold the best irons available by a country mile....

These Mizuno MP-67 Irons are unbeliveable. Very easy to hit if you are experienced enough to hit a blade. Beautiful look and finish. I was deciding between a few sets, including the nikes, these and cleveland black pears and the titelist. I would say the top two would be the AP2 712 Irons discount and the nikes, for easiest to hit. The black pearls have a nice look but scratch up very easily after you hit them, and arents as nice of a feel. The Titelist blades, are nice looking, however they are harder to hit, and the sweet spot seems non-existent. The nikes are awesome clubs. Although very pricey. Look good but not worth the extra 150. You can buy another wedge or something. The cheap golf clubs Titleist 910H Hybrid were the best ones that I found for price, look, and performance.

If you have a good solid swing these irons will bring out the best in your game. hit it in the sweet spot and the ball will soar with no side spin simply fantastic. Recommend for handicaps of 12 or less as not the most forgiving club. Very soft contact so great feel you can hit very accurately so in the scoring zone these are the best irons.

I'm currently in the market of getting new irons... I usually shoot around a 90-97 (damn driver and hybrids give me fits.) But the callaway x24 hot 's really caught my eye. I tried searching on here for some feedback but I couldn't find any...(maybe since they are relatively new). I also looked online but no official reviews yet.. (if you have any I could read I would love to take a look!)



I was wondering what the general consensus of this forum was about the newcallaway x24 's? Anybody play with them? I was really hoping to get a club I could "grow" into. I looked into the Diablo Edge Irons as well, but those seemed more for Game Improvement and didn't offer as much improvement in my future. I was hoping to get some clubs that I could play with for the next few years and really expand and grow my game into them. Since I essentially play "bogey" golf, I was wondering if these were the right irons for me. I was actually looking for more of a playing review similar to hackers paradise or something along those lines. I've always been attracted to the way they look but they are definitely growing on me.



Hey man, I was in the same situation as you a few months ago. I couldnt decide on a set of irons. You and I seem to reach about the same score. I ended up picking up a set of the Diablo Edge irons. As much as i love these irons, I kind a wish i had spent that money on lessons first before i picked them up or even went to golfsmith to see what irons were right for me. The diablo's are really great. Havent had any trouble at all with them and the hybrids are amazing. Its near impossible to hit a poor shot with that club. On top of it all, they look pretty cool IMHO. good luck with whatever you go with Reply reply.

Good points, I just have some beginner irons, but my driver and hybrids I don't feel are that bad. I'm not terrible with the hybrids and driver I'm just very inconsistent. I was looking into getting some more irons as well though (I only have 6-PW).x24 hot I think that my driver and hybrid play is honestly a lack of practice lol, not due to the poor quality of them (which they aren't but the irons are just beginner irons).

When I hit these, it wasn’t quite the usual Mizuno experience; normally, it’s game face on and pure concentration to avoid making a fool of myself with the MP line but theMizuno JPX 800 Pro looks so tempting, so easy to strike purely and still looks like a player’s iron. Clever guys these Mizuno club designers Boom…it’s long. Not surprising given the lofts on these puppies but even so it’s nice to watch your ball fly right out there with a bit of purpose. Ok, so it’s long, flies high and gets it out there. Can you work it around though? Not as easy to keep low as a blade or muscle back but that’s the trade off with the levels of launch and forgiveness that are on offer here. I reckon with a bit of practice and more time than I had with a basket or two of balls you could get where you wanted on that front.

The latest in Ping’s G range of clubs the Ping G15 Driver updates the technology that made the G10 driver the market leader. Like its predecessor the G15 has titanium head which reaches the 460CC maximum limit on headsize. What many people did not realize which I made mention of several times in the blog here, is that the Japan model R9 besides being aesthetically different from the US R9 Model was in fact a slightly different iron. The R9 Japan model had more classic lofts like a 27.5* 5 iron and quite a bit less offset than the US model. Yes the Japanese R9 Model is in fact much more like the R9 TP in the US.
