These are the best individual performances I've been to.

1. REM
1. Dillinger Escape Plan
3. Alter Bridge
4. Dream Theater
5. Motorhead (on the 1st of November, not when I saw them 2 years ago).
6. Trivium-RR Tour
7. Anthrax-Metal Hammer Awards
8. Trivium-Ascendancy Tour
9. Nightwish-Metal Hammer Awards
10. Still Remains-RR Tour

The best overall gig was the Metal Hammer Awards, which was an experience I'll never forget.

Wow that list has changed...

1. Freak Kitchen (miles ahead of every other band)
2. DEP
2. REM
4. Alter Bridge
4. Foo Fighters
6. Coheed and Cambria
7. Opeth
8. Pitchshifter
9. Porcupine Tree
10. SiKth

It's not gotten to the point where I can no longer rank the gigs beyond the top 3 (1. Freak Kitchen, with DEP and REM sharing 2nd).

The best gigs I've ever been to are probably The Cooper Temple Clause, The Misfits and Opeth. Maiden last night came pretty close.

The best concert I've been to is Belphegor/Krisiun/Unleashed. All three bands were phenomenal, although the opening band was some band whose name I forgot, and they kind of sucked. I met the frontman of Belphegor and Helmuth is the most amazing man ever...and so gorgeous/badass. He loves to take pictures with and interact with his fans...although me and my friend had our camera confiscated for some ass reason so we couldn't take a picture with him, which REALLY sucked. Either way, it was the most amazing show I've ever been to...the music was intense and the bands played favourites, and there weren't even that many people there, so it felt a lot more intimate and whatever. Unleashed got cheered back onto stage played a lot of encores, the crowd loved Unleashed. Belphegor got encored too but it was slight so they didn't return. I still have the hoody that Helmuth hugged while it was on me!! Although I washed it so it's not quite the same

I'm definitely going to see those bands if they come around again.

1) Van Halen, 1998, Toronto - Canada
For me, Gary Cherone was the best VH vocalist on stage... he sang the DLR repertoire and the SH too (even "Humans Being") with soul, dedication and pride.

2) Pearl Jam, 1996, Cascais - Portugal
It's certain that Eddie Vedder is a stage monster and what he did in 1996 was unforgetable... diving from the top of the PA over the screaming crowd !!!

3) B.B. King, 1995, Lisboa - Portugal
The man's a show... he can hear/feel everything that's happening on stage and off stage and respond to it like few can.

4) Deep Purple, 2000, London - UK
It was by accident that I was in London the same day that Deep Purple performed with the London Symphony Orchestra; their performance was nothing short than amazing.

5) Paco de Lucia, 2004, Figueira da Foz - Portugal
Another gentleman that know too much; he can deliver brilliance and perfection playing but he can also hide and handle the spotlight to any of his band members.

I could go on forever... Metallica (2007), Smashing Pumpkins (2000), AC/DC (1997), etc.

I mentioned it in another post, but I'm really interested in watching Van Halen next month; the band's rehearshal occured over the weekend and they performed the full setlist:

The people's party!! They pulled up on this huge truck just jamming out in a parking lot. It was nuts and they definitely know how to put on a good show. Do a search on myspace for the peoples party and check them out

The best gigs I've ever been to (can't pick which one of them I liked the most), must be the two Guns N' Roses ones in 2006. I fuckin' cried during Welcome to the Jungle! It's the biggest thing I've ever experienced! Was just too much for me to see my only true hero, Axl Rose, FOR REAL!

To go to a Guns N' Roses concert is something that should be on everyones "things to do before I die" lists! It's so indescribable perfect!

The Mars Volta is the best band i've ever seen live. They are crazy good. I've seen them about 7 times, but one of the best shows I went to was in san diego. It was their first show for Frances the Mute, and it was awesome.

Marilyn Manson in Milan. Got specially dressed up for the occasion - but kind of half arsed it and ended up looking like boy scouts in drag. (According to friends mum.)
