ok its not EXACTLY a time machine but it lets you look into the past..

basically, you get a gigantic mirror and place it in space, say 1000 light years away.

light from earth takes 1000 years to ge there and 1000 years to get back... so then if you look at it from earth, you can see what was happening here 2000 years ago.

so if we used this we could be looking at what was happening on Earth in 5 AD.

we could even place it hundreds of millions of light yeras away so we can observe dinosaurs.

it could be used to solve crime and find lost items as well, just place the mirror a light day away in order to see who killed who 2 days ago or where we placed our keys.

cool idea or what!!

errr, yes, I guess that could work. Make it solar powered so you can look at the past on different points on earth.

But do you have any idea how long it would take to place it a light year away from Earth? Even if it was travelling at the speed of light it would take a year...

the only fault in this is that it would take at least 1000 years for it to work, as its gona take that long for the light to reach the earth from there.

yeh but the mirror might get melted by the sun

........unless you invented a sunscreen for the mirror which would save it from the sun's heat

but then the images in the mirror might be a bit blurry

dude... its not gona be reflecting the sun, because that would mean its positioned so we're looking at the sun.

its gona be srategically positioned so the mirror looks straight back at us, not at the sun.
