hating a trend simply because it has become a trend is even lamer though - at least bush haters can think for themselves, whereas what you're saying is that because lots of people dislike bush, you're going to force yourself not to; i.e. your entire set of opinions is entirely dictated by what other people are doing!

that doesn't really sound to me like they're thinking for themselves
ask most bush haters about why they hate him and all they'll come up with is "he's stupid" without any backing
what i don't like is people trying to seem more clever than they actually are by regurgitating buzz words and phrases
i was once watching one of george bush's speeches and there were two girls there also who kept laughing at everything he said even though he hadn't said anything remotely stupid but they obviously thought they would appear "political" if they did
needless to say when asked what they were laughing at all they could come up with was "he's so stupid"
so really what you just said is rubbish, i wasn't saying "that because lots of people dislike bush, i'm going to force myself not to" at all. I'm not pro bush and i'm not forcing myself to be pro bush in any way, i'm just not going to shoot my mouth off the whole time in a vague attempt to look more intelligent

What about saying Hurricane Katrina is tragic. Everybody knows already, so that would be lame, right?
sometimes things are so blatantly obvious they can be said without the need for repeating proof. Who are you to say that people acknowledging the impression that Bush is an illiterate, propaganda spewing airhead and has obviously set america on a very misguided foreign policy, without explicitly saying so, is lame?
Yea, i'm anti bush, that's sooo lame.
maybe next time we public school kids can stop being so patronising. I don't disagree that there is often a bandwagon and that people take up opinions and causes with little thought - i bet a lot of people at the Live 8 concerts, organised as a push for fair trade, wouldn't be able to explain the difference between fair trade and the free trade they want to get rid of
but for anti bush stuff, it really is a load of patronising crap to brand Kanye West as lame just for criticising him over his handling of the Katrina disaster. I bet West knows a lot more about it than you do. That you didnt realise that was what West was being 'anti bush' about just shows how little thought you put into that snotty comment

i.e. not having backing for your opinions except for the fact that someone else has told you to have them is not right
obviously it could be interpreted as all people who are anti bush are lame and i'm sorry if you took it that way, i didn't phrase my first comment correctly
i made absolutely no generalisations about trends and how all trends are rubbish, that's just something you made up.
the hurricane katrina thing is just a completely random slam, i don't think there's any way you could justify accusing me of thinking like that
and of course i realised that that's what the clip was about but i wasn't accusing kanye west of being lame that's just something else you've accused me of
yes i didn't put thought into my first comment but the thought i didn't put in was how to phrase it not the actual content
i'll change it for you

i agree with ya
also, bush may be a murderous, incompetent muppet, but yea, at least he does make people laugh!
as long as I'm not in america or in a country in need of 'liberating' then it's all good
