why? if someone dislikes a band you like, is that an insult to you?

surely if someone doesn't like a certain band, thats actually a bad thing for them, since it means the amount of music that they can enjoy is that much smaller. people who go around bashing almost every band always seem to have the upper hand in most arguments (especially on the internet), because they can pretend to be "above" the music and therefore its fans. but if you can only get pleasure from listening to one genre or a smaller number of bands, its kinda sad imo.

Although I agree in part with the annoyingness of the superiority complex people get over more obscure music, you're wrong. Although liking a smaller number of genres may confine you, there is almost an infinite number of bands, and each band has a hell of a lot of songs so I don't think it will actually limit amount of music. I'm sure for example Helen who has an obscure taste has a lot more music she enjoys than one of these random x-core2damax kids. And anyway people can't help taste so whatever or whatever.

NO! STOPPIT! I hate that lame 'we have different tastes, so it's ok' thing. My fave band is better than your band! You are wrong, I am right! Why will nobody argue anymore?

I added the last line so the rest of it would seem more of a lighthearted comment. If you get me. And Curtis, let's face it, my fav band pwns yours except between 12pm and 1pm on Saturdays.
