Testicular should be high up on the ratings list. That's a manly cancer right there

pink isn't effeminate. if anything, its macho. if a man wears pink it shows how cool he is, not how much of a woman he is.

Likem 'I'm so macho, i can wear pink and it doesn't affect my masculinity' ?

Even then, it shows pink is effeminate, as it shows it would 'normally' be considered as an un-macho thing

breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women, fair enough (about 30% of all cancer in women i believe). but the amount of media attention it gets is close to 100% (is the impression i get anyway). its just because its only for women and the whole gender equality thing. prostrate cancer also makes about 30% of all male cancers, so you'd think they should be treated pretty much as approximate equivalents, right? the attention it gets is not nearly equal. in fact i search 'breast cancer' in google and get 77,400,000 hits, whereas i search 'prostrate cancer' and get 25,300,000 hits, which is less than one third.

actually men can get breast cancer too and it's more dangerous for us partly because most of us don't realise we can get it and also because we don't have breasts between the cancer and our vital organs

heart disease kills far more people every year but cancer seems to be the 'cool' disease to be supporting with charities and awareness and all that.

1 in 3 people will get cancer in a lifetime. thats a lot of people. also there is virtually no cure: any treatment one can get still leaves the patient disfigured etc.

thats pretty serious, and affects a lot of people. if you got cancer you wouldn't say that cancer is 'over-rated'. you weird child.

and all diseases run in fads. eg. SARS, BSE, bird flu; it just so happens that cancer is a major killer that doesn't go away.

hey dont think my life hasn't been affected by cancer.

sorry, i'm not saying these charities are bad, they are saving lives. it just seems to me that i'm the only one looking at the bigger picture, thats all.

seeing as heart disease fatality rates are dropping whilst cancer rates are still rising i don't think you're looking at the right picture tommy

I'm surprised that's the case, with the number of fatties rising, but the number of cancer stick suckers falling (at least that's what i thought anyway)
