would you mind giving you dna for a compulsory databank
na my case is rested as it is won, surely only a fool or a terrorist would go against my findings.tell me what the bitter taste of defeat is like, for i can taste only the sweetness of victory.abuse me more to your folly as it only strengthens my resolve, you weak inept cretinous pondlife

i will say no more on the matter until I see fit, rather like the lord of the manor throwing scraps to the uneducated peasants.now scurry away to your inadequate brothels of lower learning. for you cease to amuse me

Probably not, since I don't intend on murdering anybody, etc. It could help me by spotting genetic diseases earlier etc...

However, it depends on who has access to it. I wouldn't be too happy of say an insurance company got hold of it, etc

i'd be suspicious of anyone who agreed. what gives anyone the right to own your DNA? i think that is a scarier thought than pretty much anything else. its not just them owning your superficial identity - your name, home etc - its owning your very essence. no.

i am not going to kill or rape anyone so i would happily agree.anyone who does,i think has something to hide or is just looking for something to rebel against just for the sake of it,maybe they think its very rock and roll ooooooooooooooooooooooo how anarchic

I think giving DNA to the anyone is like giving personal details to a stranger on a street, who just randomly asked you. When you talk about people not giving DNA and being "rebels" are you talking about the people in this forum, or just everyone else?

what the fuck. everything you say really does make you look like a cunt rag and i'm just being honest when i say that. my point is that there is no greater invasion of one's privacy than for people to have access to your DNA.

the british legal system does not work on the principle that you have to prove your innocence, your guilt has to be demonstrated. thus if they want DNA evidence they can get it if they suspect you. for everyone else there is no reason why 'the authorities' should possess your genetic makeup, and its ludicrous to suggest that they have any kind of sustainable claim to it.

everyone, beleive me they know EVERYTHING about you now,so being on a dna database would only be helping the police catching criminals, wich is a good thing.........nothing to hide...nothing to lose

put it this way xzxif everyone was on a database and someone got raped. they just put it all in a computer and the rapists name pops up on the screen not bad thinking for a cunt rag eh shit for brains

Paddys right, DNA profiles are, in the main, used, to catch scum rapists and murderers. What, specifically, are you worried about, if you don't fall into that group of scummers, or, is it just an idealogical objection.

DNA doesnt tell them that much about you really... and its only a chemical they use for fingerprinting. they dont even know what half the human genome codes for so youre hardly giving much information away.

its also confidential as far as insurance companies are concerned, so im quite happy to be added to it.

I thought they'd fully decoded the human genome now...

theyve fully decoded it, but they still dont know what most of it means.

I think they know what alot of it means, it's just they have a load of what seems to be 'junk' dna - sections which seem to have no use at all. I can't remember the exact figures, but i believe it was quite a high percentage, and they're puzzled as to what this is used for

apparently humans share 98% of their DNA with frogs and daffodils.

...and yeah, its more of an ideological/ethical objection. and even in today's godless world that should mean something.

I dont have and ethical objection to it though. It's no different to the knowing my addressetc in my opinion. Interesting point u made about the innocent until proven guilty thing tho...

i dont see anything wrong with the govt having a database with my dna information.

they say 'big brother' and our 'right to freedom' etc but how exactly is it going to change your life? its not going to stop you doing anything you'd normally do. its just information that noones going to look at, unless you're doing something wrong.
