I'm not sure to how many people this applies to, but for those of you it does, what you thinking about studying, and what offers have you got?

Those who are already at uni I spps can say where they are and what they are doing - just so they can get involved ;)

I'm hoping to study Geography and Economics. Currently had ABB offer from Birmingham, BBB from Leeds, and BBC from hull (though i'm never going there ever)

Got an interview with UCL on feb 8th, so hopefully all shall be good for that :)

Haven't heard from LSE or Edinburgh yet

i was going to believe you but then i remembered that you can only apply to either oxford or cambridge, not both. and they give double E offers, not triple. so you're blatantly lying. you liar. does the london school of economics even do medicine?

Why can you only apply to one of them? Do they actually give out E offers? Maybe it's for people whos father has given a rather large donation to the rowing club.

Why would anyone go to college. Get out there in the real world and stop being sponging bastards. I don't want to see my tax payers money going towards lazy gobshites sitting around watching Jenny Jones all day eating microwave lasagne. Working is so much fun, you would just love it.

bwahahaha

anyways, its us lazy gobshites that then earn more than people who go straight into work, so pay more taxes, to support YOU in your old age

unis rarely give E offers. there's no point.

you can theoretically apply to both oxford and cambridge, (they in theory dont know) but your school will hate you for it and often be dicks by giving you bad references etc. They see it as a waste of time; if you can't get into oxford, you can't get into cambridge, and vice versa - there's no point putting both down they reckon. I think it's balls.

The fact that i could earn £10k in 1 summer and £40k as a starting salary was motivation enough to go to uni, racking up debt in order to have a more prosperous life

How exactly are we being sponging bastards? University is no longer free, and even if it were, it would make up for the years of taxes my parents paid to send you to a state school.

In going to university, we are creating an educated workforce, who will earn a helluva lot more money, and pay a helluva lot more to the running of this country, so stfu

work can come after uni... but people who go straight into work miss out on the uni experience.

I got into Nottingham to do biology with ABB, the offer was AAB... most people here have missed a grade or 2, nothing to worry about, unless youre applying for oxbridge..

Notts is ace though.
FLATLANDS - Vermuyden
"Flatlands stand up there as leaders of the pack" - Ninehertz
"Comparable to Capricorns and Neurosis in terms of quality and substance" - Load of Noise
"One of the most dense noise making behemoths in the UK" - Gin Tramp

AOTEA - Apocalypse in Transmetropolita
"Mike Patton's head on a bad acid trip" - Rock-a-Rolla
"Intensely eerie and brilliantly atmospheric. World Beaters" - Raw Nerve
"Brutally original. Scarily innoative. Obscurely Flawless!" - Gin Tramp

I thought ^ that was especially witty and I would be suggesting it for the cool points thread if I knew how. And all tax payers pay a lot for stuff they don't need. And I think subsidising educations of people who are going to pay more in taxes in a decade than you probably ever will is fair enough.

In fact I was being ironic. I spent 3 years in Uni sitting around watching Jenny Jones eating microwave lasagne drinking Dutch Gold and bringing naggins of vodka into nite clubs all at the taxpayers expense.

Just wait til ye poor fuckers have to work for a living. Then the party is really over. I'll freely admit I was a sponging bastard when I was in college.

Oh by the way, I loved the patronising tone people took when they thought I never went to college. Nice.

Actually, I think the patronising tone was due to your generally ignorant attitude towards this topic

I just re-read the thread and you're wrong.

All the responses were about how much more money people were going to make than me just because they are in Uni and I never went. You won't make too much money if you go through life with such a snobby attitude.

How is that a snobby attitude? It's a mere statement of fact. Were you to have not gone to university, then you are less qualified, so chances are you will pay less taxes etc. Snobbery has nothing to do with it. Also, I certainly didn't talk about you specifically, nor did very many, so ur basically just talking a load of shit

ON TOP OF THAT, dickheads often make more money in say the business world, so it may help to have a snobby attitude.
