The loony left gone mad. Why encourage them to do what they do by making it 'safer'?

Self-harmers actually want to harm themselves, they'll see it as an achievement to have caught a disease from a dirty razorblade.

Jesus H Christ. I (will) have to pay taxes to help these dregs.

Self injurers (which the article was mainly aimed at) harm for the pain/adreneline release and for a way to get rid of emotions, as a short term coping mechanism. Its stupid to say that a self harmer would want to get a fucking disease.
And as there are a lot of people that do it i wouldnt call it a completly bad idea. If you stop you stop because you find a better way with dealing with things and feel you can. Not because your sharps are too dirty. So it isn't encouraging anyone to carry on/start self harming.

It's not a COMPLETELY bad idea, but it does seem a bit rediculous. Will the NHS be giving out free needles for heroin addicts next?

They do. Clean ones to keep them safe. Effing ridiculous. I don't particularly care if they get aids, I care about how much money I'm spending on their hobbies.

No worse then treating fatties that don't have a condition. Or smokers. Though it's a bit silly that it's kinda encouraging it...slightly...kinda.

It's completely different. It's would be like giving a lardarse a voucher for Mc Donalds, or a smoker a filter for his cigarette

probably...

I do think they are a bit stupid though. Some of them have genuine problems though, even if the majority are (imo) a bunch of attentions seeking gEmo cunts

Yeh, there are some with real problems, but I still don't see how cutting yourself actually helps in a situation like that. Tommy and I were talking about it, and if life ever got that bad, we would just move to Hawaii. And if you can be discovered that way, then just hitch a ride somewhere and start a new life. Ok, these options aren't always open to people, but if it was that bad, surely suicide is a better option that just self-harming which really serves no purpose. I guess you can't tell until you'e in the situation.

why the hell would self-harmers even go for these blades? what so they don't care about SHREDDING THEIR OWN FLESH but they still care about catching an infection enough to use government-provided blades?

I don't know about you guys, but when i accidentally cut myself and see blood POURING FROM MY ARM i don't think "gee that was really awesome i wanna fuck myself up some more", i think "HOLY SHIT MY ARM IS BLEEDING!". Self harmers are attention seeking assholes who should be sectioned.

If its razor blades their getting free then I want them as well they cost a bomb.

I hadn't even heard of self harming till recently when I heard it on the radio sounds rather damn retarded if you want to die cut deeper, if your doing it because your sad/want attention just become emo instead

Yes, self-harm is one of the most personal things you can do although there are people who do it for attention. I guess no one here saw it, there was this programme on tv (it was shite) but anyway it was about SH and based around www.recoveryourlife.com. It probably won't be repeated again but if it is it might answer some of the dumb questions you ask.
