i think its pretty scummy how christiano ronaldo is being made the scapegoat for england's defeat. not only did he score the winning penalty but he also appealed for wayne rooney to be sent off.

OMG.

english people need to totally get over themselves. if wayne rooney is going to be so fucking stupid as to stamp on carvalho right in front of the ref, he deserves to be sent off, regardless of who appeals for justice. perhaps it was unsportsmanlike to rush over and insist your club team-mate be sent off, but sportsmanship isn't exactly a major feature of professional football.

1)england didn't deserve to win the world cup
2)wayne rooney getting sent off was his fault, and his only
3)i hate english football fans
4)yeah...don't really have anything else to say :rocksmilie:

What he said. Though I really do doubt Ronaldo will come back to Utd.

(If he does then what Chris Moyles said this morning, I'm sure Rooneys foot will slip in practice).

HAHA. Hilarious. Italy beat Germany in extra time again. First match that it wasn't like americna football with start-stopping every other minute. Next week I have to go to Germany so glad they lost.

seriously? you loser.

germany are a far better team, both in ability and watchability. italy are a bunch of boring scum. i actually can't stand them.

i either want france or portugal to win, though neither particularly...

france because they're good, and its zidane's last ever tournament, and portugal because they've never won, and it'd be nice to have a new team enter the ranks of the winners.

Italy were superb last night. They deserved to win that. Lippi is the best coach in the world imo.

Ed just cuz you learn German or something, doesn't mean you can watch matches from 1954, 1974 and 1990 and pretend they're the 2006 World Cup (Thank you internet research). Lats night both teams were playing pretty damn well but Italy were playing slightly better which paid off (although also partly down to luck). Germany haven't been any good this world cup and definately don't deserve to win the whole thing. After France's last two performances, seems like they deserve it. I can't believe after 18 years of not watching football I am actually sufficiently bored to watch it.

well...ok, i didn't actually see most the italy/germany match. i was going by previous form. but on a more recent note, both portugal and france were awful last night; the goal completely ruined what had been up to that point a pretty fluid and decent game of football. i'm not even sure if it should really have been a penalty. disappointing. and what was with scolari not getting his team to push forward? he didn't make any tactical substitutions, and with 1 minute to play there were still only about 2 portugese players getting up, and even then in a half arsed way. you'd have thought they'd have put up a better fight in the end really.

Portugal should've done better, France was at this team's reach and they gave up on the 2nd half. Frustrating. If there was any justice in football though, the final would be Italy-Germany.

Points:

-Rooney probably deservede to be sent off, though it was unlucky since it did look accidental
-England outplayed Portugal and had far more chances
-I hate the Italians. They're a dirty bunch of cheating scumbags, and I'm glad zidane headbutted that dude - from what i've heard he was meant to have said he deserved it.
-I was in France for the final (watched it on a big screen) and the crowd cheered Zidane off, even though he may have cost them the world cup, which goes to show how loved he is
-Lennon played briliantly for England when he came on in all their games -definately one to watch
