If there is a god, I will suffer eternal damnation because he is not the god of Christianity or any other primitive religion (all of them). And Mr Smiley, would you really take the devil's side considering god is OMNIPOTENT? What a one sided fight... what kind of numskull would choose to oppose an omnipotent being?

And if you don't repent your sins, you are fucked. What do you guys think about this supposed "prophecies".
Anyway, I've seen top many people go from tolerant, reasonable people, to intolerant, illogical assholes after finding religion. (i.e. they had no problems with gays, then end up hating gays and condemning them to hell and so forth)

I recently read a Jesus and Mo (http://www.jesusandm...006/05/11/skin/) that prompted this editorial. It is on the unintelligent design by "god". I grow tired of hearing the theist claims about how great god is, and using spectacular organisms as proof of a divine creator because it could not all happen by "chance".
Deep sea creatures live life in the dark. We know this. They cannot see because of the darkness. In fact, many of their eyes do not even work if they were brought into the light. They are born blind. There are river dolphins in the Indus and Ganges Rivers that are also completely blind. They also have eyes. The evolved extra sensitive echolocation and use that to travel the riverbanks. Why would god make them with eyes, only to allow them to be born blind?
Trees are some of the most fascinating organisms on the planet, to me. They can be tall and skinny, short and fat, or any mix of the choices. They are all different, like humans. The pine tree in particular is interesting. They grow old. To help with the population issues the pine cones will not release the seeds unless exposed to extreme heat. Basically if a fire kills the parent tree, new seeds are released so another one can take its place. But what if a disease kills the tree instead of fire? Or it dies of old age? God's design to only be reborn in the case of fire is ignorant for the other reasons that kill trees, unless he wants to destroy his creations (that makes him malevolent by the way). (I could also go into how the unused seeds of the tree are like "spilling semen upon the ground" which the bible speaks against.) Where is the intelligence in killing trees without a plan to let other trees grow in it's place?
Humans are truly the current pinnacle of the evolutionary train. The theist often claims that humans, homo sapiens, could not possibly arise with out a divine creator. When is the last time you saw a theist use his/her appendix? How about their coccyx (tail bone)? Human eyes are interesting things. Did you know if the light we see did not pass threw the neural connections behind the eye we would have better eyesight? In the cases of squids and octopi they have the neural connections behind the retina so they have better eyesight. Why did god make the eye less than it could be? Why do we have useless vestigial organs (appendix and coccyx)?
Intelligent design would disallow these useless organs. They waste material and add weight to the bodies and disallow the optimal use of the organs we currently have. Evolution explains all of this as we do not currently need the appendix or the dolphin's eyes but we once did use them. Millions of years ago we had a purpose for creating them and evolution took away the need of them. But if you believe in god, you must answer: why did he make needless matter for no purpose whatsoever? Clearly god is not as great as everyone makes him out to be.

Could it not be the case that God made everything as he/it saw fit, and then they evolved into what they have become today. Because things have changed/evolved doesn't mean that they weren't made by God originally. Quite simple isn't it, HELLLLLLLO!!!!
