screaming and singing... take the same amount of talent to do well. its just that more screamers get away with being shit.

i cant chose... its like chosing between clean guitar and distortion. both are relevant and sound best in different styles of music. IMO how 'nice' music sounds isnt important.. it has to sound interesting.

I bet singing wins

I also bet those who vote screaming are idiots

interesting that. good in a way because i only like 2 bands that actually scream (cradle of filth and slipknot). i like screaming and singing though like american headcharge, trivium, bullet for my valentine and sometimes avenged sevenfold or lordi. so actually i agree with helen on this one screaming would suit one type of music better than some others. would you put pop to screaming ? i don't think so !

It depends what the music is like. I like both as much as each other but it depends what I'm listening to. I like LOADS of bands that scream/growl and loads that use clear vocals, it all depends on what their trying to express.
hysterical and useless

I like singing. Screaming is for gays and those who are being raped. :(

Singing, but it's best if they can do both, and by that I do NOT mean like in all that metal-core crap going around, I mean when done like by someone like Maynard, awsome singing and then just to add to the song he may let off a 23 second scream for effect (The Grudge). His screams are nigh on perfect, it takes someone special to do what he does at that level.

No, anger. Mikael Akerfeldt can do both, so not everyone who growls can't sing.
