I read about this earlier. It's rediculous! All those times he's notdies before, and he gets killed in the most unlikely way (it probably wouldn't have killed him had it not hit him straight in the heart)

Everyone seems to think 'omg it's tragic'.

The man hunted crocodiles all his life and he was killed by a fish. Enough said.

Actually, most people are mourning it because of the huge amounts of conservation work he did, and how he helped publicise the issues (especially in Australia)

he was a twat imo.

such a retard, he put his bloody baby in front of a crocodile, what a prick !

no big loss in my life.

he had the choice, he knew the consequences, he had the choice to go for it or not.

so it's his own bloody fault he's dead !

i have no sympathy for those type of people.

You sir, are a twat.

It is in NO way his fault he died, millions of people go diving there every year and he just happened to be one of the 2 people to have ever been killed on the Great Barrier Reef by a Stringray. He wasn't trying to wrestle it, he didn't even know it was there, it was pure bad luck that he got stung by it, it could of happened to anyone diving around there.

Stingray don't attack unless they are provoked.

My memorial poem-

There was this bloke
Called Steve
His last name was Irwin
Yep his last name was Irwin
He did some stupid things
And got himself killed
And now he's dead
Yep now he's dead
Now all the people
Say RIP
Say RIP
To Steve
Because he's dead
And got killed by a fish.

actually it is his fault. he knew there could be dangerous sea animal encounters on that show.

and being a cocky twat that he is, he took it on, most likely thinking 'ahh this is will not be a problem i've encountered dangerous animals before.' < typical thing he would say. he had the choice to go in or not. don't say he didn't because he did. it's his show he can do whatever he likes in it, meaning he has the choice.

plus this is my opinion. please show respect for it as i do to yours.

Actually, a stingray is not really a dangerous animal - they are generally timid, and only normally attack when stepped on or something. Steve was merely swimming alongside it, and therefore was unlucky - it's not as if he provoked it

Nor is it like he went looking for trouble as is put in 'he had the choice to go in or not'.You say it as if he deliberately put himself in a risky situation. He was filming a wildlife documentry ffs!

He wasn't filming fuck all about dangerous creatures though, he was doing a documentary about non dangerous animals and about the reef, and if you'd shown respect for how others feel about this matter, maybe I'd give a a shit about your opinion, but as it stands, I don't.

I'll say this again.

STINGRAYS DO NOT ATTACK UNLESS THEY ARE PROVOKED.

Thankyou.

There's video footage of him dying - apparently he doesn't provoke it at all (though i haven't seen it)

He goes right next to it from behind and leans right over it and another guy is right infront of it. Boxing it in. He's about to pick it up or something. That seems a bit stupid.
