its what was in at the time as they were teenagers, so naturally they wanted to be like them
im not supporting glam metal, but i dont see why to dislike pantera because they had a few crap albums

Don't blame them because there first vocalist was gay. It's the frontman that gives them the appearance they need to go for.

I love Zakk Wylde's work on Ozzy Osbourne's new album.. but I've never really gotten into Black Label Society.

Pantera, on the other hand.. were one of the bands that grew on me real early. That was my "Shredding Is The Shit" phase.. but I credit them for having been a major influence on my taste and likes in terms of music.

I choose Pantera.

i like them both they grew up together they were best buds but they both are really good bands and i like zakk a little bit mre but i think that dime is the better metal guitarist

Zakk Wylde is good, but he uses pinch harmonics in his music way too much. Dimebag is legendary, he was one of the most talented and skilled metal guitarists to ever walk this earth. Plus, Pantera made better music than Black Label. Pantera>Black Label

It's not about the first vocalist. Anselmo was glam as hell too before he joined Pantera and when he joined Pantera. So what you're saying doesn't hold.

Pantera was glam when glam was in. Pantera changed their image when glam was out. That's all there is to it.

And where on earth did you find out that the frontman gives the band its appearance? Is that supposed to be a rule or custom or something?
