people wouldn't normally have a coversation with a woman wearing a veil, apart from her family. It kinda defeats the whole point of you choosing to wear a veil if you then chat to any guy that comes along.

not because it's a sin against god, but because if you're covering up you're making a point of being faithful to your loved one. Hence it's not in the spirit of things to chat to other men if your hubby's not present. Seems like overreacting to me, but I still have some respect for the motives.

That's not to say it's always worn out of pure free will, of course - it's often expected by society or the husband, and a bad sign if not worn. Similarly in our society, dressing 'badly' immediately suggests to people that you're socially outcast and can/should be looked down upon - just because you don't follow your culture's ways.

it cannot be very pleasant to be working in a bank and in comes someone with just there peepers showing.
no hoods or caps in some shops
