given they're probably one of the more developed, democratic (relatively) countries in the middle east, I really don't think we'd be doing the country, region or world much good by 'sending them back to the stone age' - much less ourselves given the swarm of terrorists that would immediately come over. Just look at what happened after the war on Iraq, one of the most secular countries in the Middle East!

Relative democracy by no means = democracy, especially when you consider so many other countres have Sultans, etc. It also certainly doesn't mean they're any less trustworthy, etc.

It's not the suicide bombers you wana worry about, it's the nukes. And it's not us who need to worry, it's Israel
We shouldn't leave them alone, but we certainly shouldn't just blow them up. Trade sanctions are a possibility, but never work since nobody sticks to them. Also, as far as I'm aware, they haven't actually DONE anything wrong. As far as Nuclea weapons goes, we have about as much proof of them as WMDs, and thecurrent 'soldier hostage' situation - as I understand it the troops were in disputed waters which the Iranians claim is their's, so we can't hold that against them so much. Until then it has to be all diplomatic talks.
