in my opinion this is how i see it:

for male screaming: opeth! the screaming is awesome and he can sing so well, also suits the music.

for female screaming: angela gossow. christ that womans got a voice n a half! she's a big inspiration to all girlies of metal =].

Mike Patton, easily. Unlike most of the other vocalists who just scream, Mike can scream bloody murder better than anyone else. Good example would be "Hellfire" by John Zorn's Moonchild or his work with the Dillinger Escape Plan.

I also consider Chino Moreno to be very good at the screams.

Phil Anselmo can be pretty good too. Too bad he's an idiot.

With the exception of the "dear diary" lyrics and the new album, (which is slanderous that anyone would even consider it metal) I've gotta give Howard Jones a little cred for the most part (the screaming harmonies are well layed out too). But I'd definitely have to go with Sylosis or Lazarus A.D. for the screaming thing. But comparing to one of the above statements, IT'S GOTTA FIT THE MUSIC. These sappy P.O.S. heartcore bands are just whining and bitching the whole time...or so it seems....It really takes away from the musical prowess and instrumental meaning. But as an off subject side note, definitely NOT metal. It's almost as gay as avenged sevenfold at Chip N' Dales.
