I personally think we should. No one has ever died from it and its not addictive. We could also tax it.

I agree that it should be legalized. Alcohol can do alot more damage than marijuana, but still it is legal while the "drug" is not.

Also.. In the Netherlands it is legal. They sell it in coffeshops, but the land has had no problems with it. They just introduced a new law where they illegalize tobacco inside public places like restaurants, cafes and stuff like that. Marijuana (and maybe hash too?) was not included in this law, because it's not proven to be harmful. So they can still smoke, but only cannabis, and not tobacco.

Seems fair enough to me. We should follow.

imo teens do it mostly for the rush of breaking the law. cigarretes are so dangerous, alchohol is so dangerous. marijuana is easily home grown so the government cant sell it easily. even if it was legal i probably wouldnt do it

Gunsnroses, this summer i had first hand Amsterdam experience again, and you can smoke weed or hash in coffee shops. You're not allowed to mix with tobacco although there are herbal things you can mix it.
On the subject of legalizing marijuana, the ONLY two reason it isn't legal is because of firstly misleading information and propoganda campaigns earlier in the century (mostly from tobacco and cotton producers- because hemp and weed are better than tobacco and cotton) and also because it isn't quite as imbedded in society as alcohol is. The government in the UK upgraded it from C to B mainly because get this - there are stronger varieties out there now and a lot of dealers are spraying their crops with dangerous things to make them heavier. The governments solution is to make it "more" illegal instead of making it legal and controlling the supply by legalising it. Honestly, I'd rather pay £10 for a bag of weed if it was produced by companies and even if £5 of that went to tax. A large company will always be able to give better cuts and prices than a dodgy dealer who thinks he's your only choice.

i think they should for 3 reasons
one. the reason a lot of people smoke it is because it is rebellious.
two. more stoner movies (pineapple express was hilarious!)

finally you wouldn't have to buy on the street where no market price is set

of course they should, and no they never will. If they did I would give it a few years and less people would probably take part in it. By the way you should all watch this video called Run From The Cure this gives us a lot more reasons why it will never be legal in the U.S. (& Canada as long as they do whatever the U.S. says)

I don't get where the 'less people with participate' arguement. No stoner is gonna quit because it's legalized. Anyone who does decide to not try it based on the fact it is legal are stupid and in the minority i hope.

na my case is rested as it is won, surely only a fool or a terrorist would go against my findings.tell me what the bitter taste of defeat is like, for i can taste only the sweetness of victory.abuse me more to your folly as it only strengthens my resolve, you weak inept cretinous pondlife

i will say no more on the matter until I see fit, rather like the lord of the manor throwing scraps to the uneducated peasants.now scurry away to your inadequate brothels of lower learning. for you cease to amuse me

The population is already stupid enough, we don't need more drugs.
And by the way, people have died from it.

No, no-one has ever died from smoking too much pot. People have died because they're idiots and they smoked some pot and did something stupid, but that's just natural selection at work...

And drugs have probably saved your life a few hundred times by now..

Drugs have never saved my life. Legalizing pot couldn't do any good.

"Drugs have never saved my life."

Yes they have. If you've had any kind of surgery or any kind of illness in your life, drugs have helped you. Even if you've never had any vaccinations (which is very unlikely), drugs have saved your life. The fact that everyone has been immunised to a variety of diseases means that you won't catch those diseases and therefore drugs have saved your life.

It would do more good being legal more than it does being illegal...it would help alot of people in different ways...and remember...a smoke a day keeps the physiatrist away!!! :)

I most definitely think it should still be legal.. of course, being military..I'm sure it would still be illegal to us but hey, won't be in here forever

Someday, if I have kids and smoking pot is the worst thing they are doing.. they will be okay

I have always heard it referred to as a 'gateway' drug but I disagree..I started smoking pot when I was 15
and I have done it off and on before I joined the military. I had always been scared to try anything else
because you can get addicted, die from it, etc.. never once had any concerns with pot.. it's just a chill drug
and people need to relax
