I am DYING in this world of rock for some new music. It seems like music is taking a long break. Here's a list of bands that I enjoy:
for classic rock, generally:
aerosmith, ac/dc, america, beatles, bto, blue oyster cult, black sabbath, doobie brothers, deep purple, elo, elton john, foghat, foreigner, genesis, heart, jefferson airplane, john lennon, led zeppelin, peter frampton, peter gabriel, pink floyd, rush, steppenwolf, steve miller band, steely dan, supertramp, van halen, NOT hagar!, yes, and zz top.
newer:
30 secs to mars, all-american rejects, afi, aqualung, aberdeen city, alpinestars, blink 182, blondie, blue oyster cult, bright eyes, buckcherry, caesars, coldplay, death cab for cutie, depeche mode, deftones, dirty pretty things, eisley, evanescence, faithless, flyleaf, foo fighters, franz ferdinand, frou frou, garbage, gwen stefani, hellogoodbye, hinder, hard-fi, jet, korn, kidneythieves, katy rose, KIDNEYTHIEVES!, living things, louis xiv, lovedrug, mae, nirvana, no doubt, nine inch nails, oasis, oar, orgy, panic!at the disco, paramore, phoenix, placebo, plain white t's, resident evil, she wants revenge, snow patrol, sneaker pimps, taking back sunday, tatu, tegan and sara, the donnas, the dresden dolls, the fray, the killers, the libertines, the ramones, the shins, the smiths, the sounds, the spill
canvas, the strokes, the subways, the used, the veronicas, the white stripes, wolfmother, and yeah yeah yeahs.
I'd prefer recommendations from both tastes, like a wolfmother taste for classic rock and a kidneythieves/seether taste for modern.

Check out Keaton Simons, he has a new album coming out next Tuesday. He has a classic sound like solo Eric Clapton but still has a modern kind of indie yet pop edge.

You gotta check out The Mexicolas, front man Jamie Evans has an amazing voice and the lyrics are pretty deep too. None of this manufactured shit plaguing the charts... Real music for real people

Also The Peoples Party. They have a similar energy and image to that of the Red Hot Chili Peppers but there music is much more experimental.
