Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi and former Deep Purple bassist/vocalist Glenn Hughes have recorded 13 songs for a new album.

This is the follow-up to 1996's 'The DEP Sessions', which was recently been released, itself a belated successor to the classic "Seventh Star" album.

The pair, who worked on the tracks with drummer Kenny Aronoff and producer Bob Marlette, are now mixing the as yet untitled record.

hey thats cool news. glenn hughes is pretty legendary. he sang (parts of) burn, right? thats my favourite DP song.

tony iommi, yeh i guess hes alright too. i dont know what he sounds like now but black sabbath had some killer riffs (which i dont know who wrote). never cared much for the soloing though.

Haven't heard many of Iommi's collaborations either, except one track he made with Dave Grohl called 'Goodbye Lament' which I seem to remember being quite cool without breaking too much new ground.
