From what I can gather most of you guys are from the UK, just wondering what your thoughts were on Maximo Park's album A Certain Trigger (A British band, just in case you dont know)?
Im not quite sure what genre of music they'd fit in to, i was thinking along the lines of alternative rock, but I have to say i really enjoy listening to them.

i think they've got a great ear for catchy tunes. Their accent can get a bit annoying, and the songs can be quite chaotic, but overall, i quite like this album

the album has really grown on me. They're symnptomatic of a new breed of similar bands coming out, which should feature quite heavily at Reading
A similar band are the Mystery Jets, for example. I'm tempted to say the Kaiser Chiefs are also part of this new brand: fairly fast, poppy (extremely catchy) tunes, with quite simple guitar and very prominent keyboard work (piano or organ) - take for example Na Na Na Na Naa, compare that to track 7 on the maximo park album (can't be arsed to look up what it's called)

Yes im familiar with the Kaiser Chiefs, I know what you're getting at.
Haha it really does grow on you doesnt it, thats what i found as well. I find its good to sometimes balance out listening to heavier rock with this more bouncy and fresh style of music.
I got to know this band through a major alternative music radio station in Australia, Triple J, who had it as their 'feature album' for a while. Track 2 Apply some Pressure was a big favourite.
