Under the bridge, Cant stop, Paralell universe, californication, they were all great songs, In fact I think The chilli's are my 3rd favourite band, I was at one of their concerts, and It must have been the best concert I've been to.

i was at one of their concerts and it must have been one of the worst concerts i've been to because i couldn't see them because i wasn't gold circle

and seeing as the tickets were like £35 each i think that's a fucking rip off even though i do like the chilis

i'd say the price was worth it, but then again, I was at a machine head concert and I couldn't see them either, and their performance was actually quite bad, but there was people who have been and they said they were brilliant. so it just depends on the time :rocksmilie:

Well their new album is coming out sometime early next year. It might be a 2Disc CD, because of all the songs they've recorded.

ok that post had absolutely no grammar in it at all...very hard to follow. is 'scar tissue' frusciante's autobiography? or kiedis's? and yes, they're all pretty messed up. except chad smith.

Yes, I have to agree, that was a messed up post. Scar Tissue is Kiedis' autobiography. :P Yeah, Anthony and John are pretty messed up, not sure about Flea and Chad, though. I know Chad used to smoke pot when he 15.

Not that keen on them, they've made a couple of quite good songs, but it took 20 years to make their best song, By The Way ,commercial and main stream but I couldn't give a shit.

that may have something to do with that you don't like funk.

you know their first album was comissioned on the basis of how cool they were live. they didn't have a single proper song. their live set consisted of a 25-minute jam called 'out in LA' that was different every time they played and had improvised lyrics. chilis were the epitomy of rock n roll - they didnt really do much music, just drugs and chicks (check out the lyrics to songs like sir psycho sexy and suck my kiss for evidence)

you know that being cool is very important for a band, without that, the music industry doesn't give a crap about you. and they where not just being cool. they had great musical energy wich many, many bands lack today but they really got though. and they where hard and funky as few! of course they where playing around, improvising and doing drugs, enjoying life, but they surely made quality funk-rock/funk-metal music at that time. if you don't see that, i'm sorry to say it but then you lack of something.

Under the Bridge is way overrated, Californication is better but still not amazing, I think the RHCPs are well overrated. But then, I don't listen to lyrics and people are always telling me that RHCP have amazing lyrics, so maybe I'm missing something.

wow, if only we had had a thjread about RHCP being overrated..... (which they are)
I used to have BSSM, and it was my favourite. The chillis are still a good band, still releasing the odd gem lihe higer ground

under the bridge is overated, too much played, but still a good song. RHCP is overrated for the new stuff, and surely ignored and underrated for everything before blood sugar sex magic. and yeah they have good lyrics indeed. (maybe not "amazing" though but good)

folks! if you want quality funk-rock/funk-metal, check everything from blood sugar sex magic and back. if you don't agree, learn to listen to funk.
