A film given the working title of control is being made of the life of Ian Curits. This comes after the success of 24 hour party people another film, focusing around Tony Wilson, made about the music of Manchester.

It will be based on the book written by his wife, "touching from a distance"

I'm really looking forward to this. It was a shame for Ian to commit suicide at such an early age. He could have made such a difference to modern music. The sheer amount of amazing lyrics i have seen in the book that was published fairly recently and they will never be released.

Hooky, of Joy Division and now New Order was recently asked, I think at glastonbury, "Have you any advice for bands just starting out?", he said, "Yeah, make sure your lead singer doesn't top himself."

Very true.
