Exactly, not overtechnical speed stuff, but gilmours solos stand out because of the amount of clever licks he can produce and a lot of the time he is on the same not he just bends that note up a semi tone, a tone, tone and half sometimes even two whole tones and slowly releases the bend going through the notes of a scale by pushing the string upwards and not just sliding up the fretboard, nice to see something different for a change
